It should come as no surprise that Beyonce took home awards at this year’s grammy’s. Her album “Renaissance” was huge commercial success racking up 179.06 million streams in its first week and becoming the eighth biggest of the year overall, and the most of Beyoncé’s career. Arriving late owing to L.A traffic, in her acceptance speech the multiple grammy winner had this to say.
“I’m trying not to be too emotional and I’m trying to just receive this night,”
she said, after breaking the record.
“I want to thank God for protecting me. … I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit.”
She added.
She thanked her parents, husband and three children before concluding.
“I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre.”
She finished.
This is queen bee’s 32nd grammy win and it was for best dance/electronic album that became her pièce de resistance. Two of her awards were given out during the non-televised Premiere ceremony in the afternoon, and she subsequently has picked two more during the prime-time telecast, with three categories left to go that she is nominated in.
