Sky have hit a new record with the finale of ‘The Last of Us’ – it’s become their most successful U.S. debut series launch ever, with the biggest audience of any Sky series finale. This is truly a remarkable achievement for the show!
The pay-TV giant has reported that the emotional conclusion to the show has been viewed by 3 million people in the UK. This marks the biggest viewership for the ninth and final episode, topping even the finale of the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’, from last year.
tuned in to watch the show overnight, surpassing the viewership of the final episode of Love Island on ITV2.
Since it first aired, the HBO original series has been met with great acclaim by both critics and viewers. Despite going up against the Oscars, the show’s season one finale still managed to draw in 8.2M viewers across HBO’s linear and digital platforms.
