Sunday night’s episode of The Last of Us featured an unexpected surprise – a glimpse of HBO’s camera crew in the snowy tundra during an overhead shot. The landscape imagery was breathtaking, but sharp-eyed viewers noticed a few of the crew members in the lower left and upper left-hand side of the screen. This editing error was first pointed out by musician Scott T. Jones on Twitter.
When Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us video game, posted an image of “WAS THAT DINA” with the caption “Ahahaha. Love, y’all!” Scott T. Jones pointed out an editing error, alerting him that the film crew was visible in the shot. James commented, “Brilliant episode. Something you might want to fix and reupload though. You can see the film crew in this shot.”
A TikToker, Chase Osborne also noted the editing error and posted a video, saying “The Last of Us: Season 1, Episode 6. About 15 minutes in. Looks like they accidentally left a few of the film crew in the shot.”

Social media users have spotted HBO editing blunders in the past, none more famously than in the final season of Game of Thrones, when Daenerys Targaryen was seen with a Starbucks cup in front of her. This was an error that quickly went viral.
