According to a recent report, Marvel Studios has set a new record for the number of annual releases within the MCU.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the process of transitioning from Phase 4 to Phase 5, and eventually to Phase 6. It has undergone frequent schedule and budget changes and is currently planning a significant overhaul in order to improve quality and efficiency. Jeff Snieder from Above the Line reported on a recent episode of The Hot Mic podcast that Marvel’s target output has been reduced. Instead of producing four shows and four movies each year, they will now concentrate on creating two shows and three movies annually.
“Marvel’s target output has been reduced. I don’t know if this has been reported, or if this was a line in the trades, or whatever, but I’m told that the target output has been reduced from four shows and four movies a year to two shows and three movies a year. And of course that’s malleable. You could get one on either side of that, or whatever.”
