His shoulder length golden locks flowing from beneath his bandana, his iconic tearing of his shirt and of course the signature “Hulkamania is running wild, Brother” line he spoke during his many epic promo’s. Terry Eugene Bollea better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan became a staple in the wrestling industry, performing in every corner of the world. But as is with time and dangerous sports, the years of tumbling in the arena took a toll on the athlete.
Long before he retired Hogan had already begun getting surgery in order to heal his severe injuries. Even now, after he had hung his boots the Hulkster had to go through multiple surgeries in order to properly heal. However, no one including the superstar expected the results of his last surgery. Appearing on the “Kurt Angle Show” he spoke about getting the nerves on his lower back severed. Host and former wrestler Kurt Angle had this to say following the interview.
“Hogan had his back surgery again. He had the nerves cut from his lower body. He can’t feel his lower body so he has to use a cane to walk around. I thought he was using a cane because he has pain in his back. He doesn’t have any pain. He has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything. So now he can’t feel his legs so he has to walk with a cane. That’s pretty serious man. I mean I really feel for Hogan. He put his heart and soul into the business and it ate him up.”
Kurt Angle
It is indeed pretty serious and like his colleague we to wish the best for the man that brought joy to millions around the world with his superior athleticism.
