Donnie Wahlberg recently shared this exciting update on social media about a mini Magnum P.I. reunion on the Blue Bloods set! Tom Selleck and Larry Manetti, the original co-stars of the hit show, will be reunited on-screen for the first time in 30 years.
Joining them in the photo are the current stars of Blue Bloods, including Bridget Moynahan, Andrew Terraciano, Will Estes and Vanessa Ray. While we can’t help but feel the absence of Roger E Mosley and John Hillerman, this will surely be an episode you won’t want to miss!
John Manetti, who starred alongside Tom Selleck as Orville “Rick” Wright in the iconic TV series Magnum P.I. (1980-1988), continued his acting career with appearances in Walker, Texas Ranger, JAG, and the remakes of Hawaii Five-0 and the newer version of Magnum P.I.
Tom Selleck is currently starring as New York Police Commissioner and family patriarch Frank Reagan in the long-running TV show, Blue Bloods, which is now in its 13th season.
Blue Bloods continues to be a top-rated show, ranking in the Top 5 scripted series on CBS and a pillar of their Friday night lineup. The show is negotiating renewal for its 14th season, and CBS Studios is still reaping the rewards of its success. It has maintained its ratings on CBS since its debut and continues to bring in viewers in syndication and abroad.
Blue Bloods will air on CBS this Friday at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
