The story starts almost similarly to Jumanji. Two siblings, Walter and Danny, are home with their elder sister, as their father has to deal with some important things. Out of carelessness, their sister takes a nap instead of caring and looking out for the boys.
Walter and Danny find the hidden game Zathura in their house and play, only to discover that it is different from a typical game.
